In Art, our curriculum intent is to promote creativity, which in turn directly enhances learning by increasing motivation, deepening understanding, and promoting well-being. Students will become knowledgeable of a range of artists and make judgments about their work in informed and reasoned ways, increasing their knowledge of how to effectively evaluate others’ work to develop their own. They will apply this research and experiment with techniques employed by artists from a range of eras, which will support them in developing their style and improving their ability to handle materials. Students will be independently exploring their chosen theme. Students will be creating a range of recordings through multiple materials whilst analyzing their work through critical writing. Students will continue to use the assessment objectives to help inform their work and show a clear journey.
For level 3 qualifications, students require at least 5 GCSEs (or level 2 equivalent) at grade 5 or above. In addition, individual subjects may have specific further requirements.
Three Summative assessments a year in accordance with the school assessment calendar – one per term, or in line with the TLT Assessment calendar.
