Through Physics AS/A-Level, you will be able to extend your range of mathematical and analytical skills. The skills and techniques acquired will be implemented in difficult, unstructured problems. You will also be able to develop practical skills by using scientific methods to investigate physical phenomena. You will apply mathematical and scientific reasoning in order to explain the world around us, ranging from the atomic level to the entire universe. Physics at A-Level is very beneficial and can help you progress onto numerous Higher Education courses, including Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Astrophysics, Astronomy, Theoretical Physics, Architecture, Materials & Design, Manufacturing Engineering, and Robotics.
A minimum of 6 grade 4s, including a grade 5 in both GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths, is required. A grade 6 in GCSE Physics OR two grade 6s in GCSE Core + Additional Science is also required.
This course is Assessed by externally set and marked examinations. You will also be assessed by a non-exam assessment (NEA); this practical endorsement will be achieved by meeting a set of twelve practical skills that are assessed by your teacher during the course.
