On the OCR Art and Design A-Level, you can express your own creative flair within your specialisation through a broad based art, craft and design specification including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, graphic design, textiles, illustration or printmaking. The programme will cover a wide variety of media, allowing you the opportunity to flex your creative muscles while learning new techniques and approaches, producing creative, dynamic and exciting outcomes, inspiring and challenging. Exploration of various artistic media, including traditional 2D, 3D and digital creative mediums. • In-depth study of the creative practice of historical and contemporary artists. • Introduction to new artistic processes, such as printmaking and photography. • Trips to art galleries and lifedrawing workshops. • Independent working on your personal project in our bespoke A-Level studio.
5 GCSEs, including English and maths, grade 5/C or above. GCSE Art and Design Grade 6, or demonstrable subject interest and skill.
This course is assessed by a combination of practical and portfolio work, comprising: Component 1: Personal Investigation (60%) Component 2: Externally Set Assignment - a supervised 15 hour practical assessment (40%)
