This course is ideal for those with compassion and who want to care for people in differing situations. This BTEC will equip you with the skills needed to support people through an illness, aid them in their growth/development, and help them be safe in their environment. Students participating in this course should have the goal of furthering their careers in Health & Social Care. The course will run over two years, having you undergo a mixture of academic theory work. Since this course is a National Extended Certificate, it is equivalent to one A-Level. This is a very valuable qualification to have. After completing this course, you will be equipped with a broad basis of study for the Health & Social Care sector. This BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate is designed to support progression to Higher Education; it can help you progress onto many different university courses when taken as part of a programme of study that includes other appropriate BTECs or A-Levels.
A minimum of 6 grade 4s, including a grade 4 or above in GCSE English Language, is required. GCSE Maths must also be at grade 3 as a minimum. If GCSE Maths is at a grade 3, you would have to resit it.
This course contains four units in total; three are mandatory, and two are externally assessed. Assignments are assessed in a variety of ways, including through Google Classroom, presentations, and essays. Assessment criteria are based on a pass, merit, and distinction grade.
