The extended certificate in business studies is designed for young people who are interested in learning about the business sector alongside other fields of study, with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses, not necessarily in business-related subjects. It is designed to be taken as part of a programme of study that includes other appropriate BTEC Nationals or A Levels. Exploring business concepts and their real-life applications. • Understanding how marketing campaigns are developed. • Learning about personal and business related finance. • Understanding the organisation and management of business events.
5 GCSEs, including English and maths, grade 5/C or above. Demonstrable interest in business. GCSE Business is not required for this course.
This diploma is equivalent in size to one A-Level. The course comprises of four units, of which two are external exams; these comprise 58% of your grade. Component 1 & 2: Internal Coursework Component 3 & 4: External Examinations
