This qualification aims to provide an introduction to study of the sector. It supports access to a range of higher education courses, possibly in the health and social care sector or teaching. Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Health & Social Care. This is the equivalent of 1 A Level. Health and Social Care lessons are taught using a wide range of active learning approaches including independent research and reporting, group activities and class discussion, as well as formal classroom-based activities and enrichment opportunities. This will enable learners to progress to a degree programme chosen from a range of programmes in the health and social care sector. The qualification is intended to carry UCAS points and is recognised by higher education institutions as contributing to meeting admission requirements to many relevant courses.
