Course summary

Year One: Unit 1; this unit allows you to plan and produce complex dishes for a range of scenarios; this will be assessed with a work portfolio and practical examination. This unit also contains a formal examination. Year Two: Unit 2 - This unit will allow you to investigate food safety and how to apply food safety in a workplace. This unit will contain NEA. Unit 3 – This unit is optional during this unit you will explore and investigate a range of food production problems as part of this unit you will complete a food investigation to solve a potential problem within the food industry. Unit 4 – This is an optional unit. For this unit you will research a current issue in food science and nutrition. Due to the variety of assessment styles used, you will develop your skills around planning and adapting, formal writing, managing projects and leading investigations
