Course summary

This qualification is for learners 16 years old or over who want to study health science, social care, or childcare. This qualification isn’t just about caring for babies or the elderly and the ill; it will provide learners with the skills, knowledge, and understanding to progress into Higher Education in a Health and Social Care related program such as Health and Social Care, Nursing, Social Work or Early Childhood Studies. Units undertaken will include: - Human lifespan development - Working in health and social care - Meeting individual care and support needs - Supporting individuals with additional needs. Depending upon the size of the qualification chosen other units may also be studied such as Public Health, Supporting those with mental health conditions, Dementia, and Research in Health and Social Care.

Entry requirements

- Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above; including English and/or maths. - National data suggests successful students will have achieved an average points score of 4.0 or more.
