Course summary

You will develop an understanding of the main principles of solving problems using computers. You will also learn practical programming skills using a range of languages which will help you to solve the Programming project. You will learn through practical tasks and written coursework.

How you'll be assessed

This course consists of two examinations and one non-exam assessment. Computer systems – 2 hours and 30 minutes written paper at end of year 13 – 40% of total A-level. Algorithms and programming – 2 hours and 30 minutes written paper at end of year 13 – 40% of total A-level.
