Course summary

The EPQ allows you to lead your own project. You get to plan and carry out research on a topic that you have chosen. You can take inspiration from something touched on in class or something personal and unrelated to your studies. You then use this research to produce a 5000 word written report. What skills will I develop? • Thinking critically, being a reflective and independent learner • Decision making and problem solving skills • Planning, research, analysis, synthesis, evaluation and presentation skills • Demonstrate creativity, initiative and enterprise • Referencing and writing academically Undertaking an EPQ can also deliver other benefits for students, such as: • Improved A Level performance • Receive lower offers from some universities • Something to discuss in university interviews and personal statements

Entry requirements

At least a Grade 6 in GCSE English Language is desirable
