Course summary

Computer Science is a demanding A level. Students will learn programming to a high standard and apply their skills in practical and theoretical tasks. This is an excellent course for students who are seeking to develop a career in programming and software design. Computer Science also develops logical and analytical skills. It combines well with Science, Engineering and Maths. The emphasis is on practical application of understanding to problem solving. How you'll be assessed

80% exam, 20% coursework. 2 exams, each of 2.5 hours: Computer Systems (40% of final mark) Algorithms and programming (40% of final mark) The coursework will involve the iterative development of complex software using an agile development methodology.
