Course summary

To build on prior GCSE knowledge in Biology and to understand and explore biological molecules, cells, exchange between organisms and the environment, genetic information, variation and the relationships between organisms. To develop problem solving and practical skills including mathematical skills and to develop inquisitive and independent learners. Biology is the scientific study of life. It is a broad subject and covers the many elements of life from molecules to animal behaviour and from DNA technology to human disease. Biology offers students the opportunity to undertake cutting-edge biological practical work.
