Students can learn how to create their own instruments using synthesis, learn how to mix, edit and produce audio, how to manage studio recording sessions, and how to create their own music using advanced Music Technology techniques. There are six units to complete across the two years, with two mandatory units: • Live Sound Recording and Sound Reinforcement (External Assessment) • Planning for a Career in Music The additional four units are tailored to the strengths and interests Of the students, but are likely to be: • Music sequencing and Production • Composing Music (Styles) • Remixing and Production • Development of Music Recording Technology
Music Grade 4 OR Music Technology Distinction - 5 GCSEs graded from 9 to 4, where 3 of those GCSEs are graded at a grade 5 or above.
The course is fully practical including the external assessment (exam). As a result, continuous independent work on projects is expected throughout Year 12 and 13
