Course summary

These courses contain a mixture of topics from the different areas of Mathematics. The majority of the topics will come from Pure Mathematics, Statistics, and Mechanics. You will meet some new and interesting topics, whilst at the same time you must be prepared to meet familiar topics in which your skills need to be improved. The first year of A-level improves, enhances, and extends skills covered at GCSE and there is an increased emphasis on problem-solving questions. The second year also extends skills covered at GCSE but then introduces a greater quantity of new topics. Once again, there is an increased emphasis on problem-solving skills.

Entry requirements

GCSE grade 6 or above in Mathematics.

How you'll be assessed

The A-level is assessed by three written papers. There is no coursework.
