Aimed at 16-19-year-olds, you’ll be taught the necessary skills required to create deep, engaging game worlds, fully animated characters, and rich, narrative-driven stories. Our fully equipped facilities will give you access to industry-standard game engines such as Unreal Engine and 3D design software like Autodesk’s 3DS Max. Our state-of-the-art games design suites in Bromsgrove and Worcester, are fully equipped with high-quality gaming and digital media equipment. From motion capture to virtual reality this tailor-made environment will help you get the most from your course. Course Modules - 3D Games and Environments - Graphic Design - 2D Games Creation - 3D Modelling - Personal Progression As part of our study programme, we also incorporate: • Work experience hours (or virtual projects) • Industry Skills Development classes • Independent work at home • Tutorial sessions • Optional enrichment activities Successful students can progress on to our tailor-made Foundation Degree in Interactive Media & Games Development in partnership with the University of Wolverhampton. Potential career paths include (but are not limited to): - Game Designer - Creative Director - Animator - Graphic Designer - 3D Modeller - Character Artist - Game Tester - Games Coding and Programmer - Engine Programmer - QA Tester - Digital Compositor - 3D Rigger
Applicants require 5 GCSEs grade 4 and above, including Maths and English (preferably with a qualification related to technology such as IT or Digital Media). Entry will be subject to a satisfactory reference and interview and may involve a composition activity. Entry decisions will be discretionary after the interview and based upon achievement of the above entry requirements. Students will continually be assessed through the probation period to ensure they are on the correct level.
The qualification is 100% coursework-based and will be graded through a series of internal assignments and projects, including written reports, screen recordings, digital portfolios, presentations, and interactive practical work.
