This course reflects what is happening in the world of business, both in the UK and internationally. You’ll be expected to be aware of changes in the business environment and relate your theoretical learning to real businesses in the news. This course is ideal for you if you are wanting to pursue a high-flying business career, or to complement other A Level courses. You will be well-equipped to apply for a university course in Business Management, Accountancy, Law, or International Business. You will be expected to learn theoretical business models, use a wide range of business calculations, tackle in-depth business case studies, and write essays. Year 1 The first year provides a detailed insight into the key functions within a business. You will learn about leadership, finance, human resource management, marketing, and operations management. Year 2 The pace of learning is rapid and in the second year, you will be expected to apply your knowledge to tackle essay questions and longer case studies in preparation for the final exams. You will learn about business strategy, culture, globalisation, accounts, investment decisions, ethics, and management of change.
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language and Maths, plus grade 4 or above in Business (if taken at GCSE).
