Units Studied Year 12 Unit 1: Human Lifespan Development Unit 14: Physiological Disorders and their Care Units Studied Year 13 Unit 1: Working in Health and Social Care Unit 5: Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs The course develops students’ understanding of human behavior patterns, the organizational structures in the health and care sector, and ethics, rights, and responsibilities. Students who successfully complete the qualification will be prepared to study a degree in counseling, social work, or nursing. Career pathways include social work, charity work, civil services, counseling, lecturing, healthcare, and local government administration.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade 5 or above. This course is open to students who have achieved a grade 4 in GCSE maths and English language or literature.

Coursework and External Assessment in January/June of Year 12 and Year 13.
