This course is suitable for anyone interested in Law as a subject and who is good at continuous writing, being able to learn and recall factual information easily, being able to think logically i.e. to ‘unpick’ a situation, apply their legal knowledge and come to a conclusion. It goes with any other A Level and is a good choice for anyone thinking of studying Law at university as it gives you a definite idea of whether you enjoy the subject before you sign up for a 3-year degree course. Paper 1 Section A – English Legal System Section B – Criminal Law Paper 2 Section A – Law Making Section B – The Law of Tort Paper 3 Section A – Further Law Section B – Option 2: The Law of Contract
The standard entry requirement to our Sixth Form is five GCSE grades of 4 or above, including English and Maths. Grade 6 in GCSE English (Students who achieve a Grade 5 will be reviewed based on their whole academic profile).
The course consists of 3 x 2-hour Papers – all equally weighted – all taken at the end of Year 13. Section A of each paper = 25%; Section B = 75%
