Course summary

BTEC Performing Arts is a vocational course, centered around Acting. The course develops performing skills through practical exploration of existing works as well as the application of skills and techniques through individual and group performances. Pupils use research and analysis to explore practitioners and their works as well as devise their pieces for performance. Pupils should be actively involved in every lesson, taking part in workshops led by staff and other students. They will perform to a range of different audiences and should be able to reflect upon their role within the piece. Entry requirements

Students who intend to study the International Baccalaureate Careers Programme will be required to achieves five GCSEs at 5 or above including English and Maths. English at grade 4 or above. A keen interest in Performing Arts, acting and performing

How you'll be assessed

Year 12: Unit 1 Unit 3 Year 13: Unit 1 resits Unit 5 Each unit is graded from Near Pass to Distinction and given points. At the end of the course, these are combined with the internal units and added up to give the final overall grade.
