There are two units of study in the first year of Sociology in Year 12. These are: • Families and Households • Education (plus Research Methods) There are two units of study in the second year of Sociology in Year 13. These are: • Beliefs in Society • Crime and Deviance (plus Theory and Methods)
Minimum of 5 A*-C grades / grade 5 (new grading structure) at GCSE or equivalent with English and maths. Grade 6 or equivalent in your chosen study subject is preferred.
These units will be assessed by essays during the course of the year and at the end of the year in external, formal examinations by way of three, two-hour examinations.
