Entry requirements

Minimum of 5 A*-C grades / grade 5 (new grading structure) at GCSE or equivalent with English and maths. At least a grade 6 in GCSE Biology or Combined Biology is the minimum requirement.

How you'll be assessed

Paper 1: Any content for topics 1-4, including relevant practical skills. 2 hours long consisting of 91 marks (76 marks: a mixture of short and long answer questions and 15 marks: extended response questions). Paper 2: Any content for topics 5-8, including relevant practical skills. 2 hours long consisting of 91 marks (76 marks: a mixture of short and long answer questions and 15 marks: comprehension questions). Paper 3: Any content for topics 1-8, including relevant practical skills. 2 hours long consisting of 78 marks (38 marks: structured questions, including practical techniques, 15 marks: critical analysis of given experimental data and 25 marks: one essay from a choice of two titles).
