You will continue to develop the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in that language through a range of topics. Included at A Level: a diverse society, crime and punishment, immigration and politics. Studying a language to A Level gives you the personal pleasure and satisfaction of knowing that you are becoming increasingly fluent in a foreign language and that you will find it easier to travel and communicate in that country. It also provides a useful insight into another culture and enhances your employment prospects.
- At least grade 6 in French at GCSE • Passes at grade 4 or above in English Language (not English Literature) and Mathematics • At least six GCSE passes at Grade 5 to 9 • A Grade 6 or above in the subjects the student wishes to study at Advanced level or in any prerequisite subjects
Written examination by the awarding body with a speaking assessment examined either internally or by the awarding body.
