BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Applied Science This course consists of three mandatory units plus optional units that provide a combined total of 360 learning hours, which is equivalent to 1 A level ( 5 hours per week).
Minimum of 5 grade 5 at GCSE or equivalent. Single requirement at least 1 Grade 4 or equivalent in your science GCSE, Double requirement at least 2 Grade 4 or equivalent in your science GCSE.
Some units are assessed by way of a formal external examination (Pearson). Other assignments are assessed internally using a range of assessment materials and then moderated externally in June. Each unit carries equal weighting towards the final grade.
