Art A Level, incorporating Fine Art and Textiles, is an opportunity for students to explore and discover the full range of their creative potential. The most important requirements are passion and engagement. Art requires students to take creative risks in order to mature, solve problems, develop an aesthetic understanding, and communicate ideas using visual language. It is exciting because students will go on a journey of discovery and they will construct a personal project that is based on their own interests, thoughts, and ideas and that encourages them to develop a more heightened sense of the world around them. These are transferable and life skills. Many of our students go on to study Art related courses at University including: - Architecture - Fine Art - Illustration - Game Art Design - Visual Effects and Digital Art - Textiles - Embroidery - Fashion Design - Fashion Marketing - Photo Journalism - Engineering - Product Design
6 in Art or a portfolio meeting.
Year 13 students will receive their Externally Set paper at the beginning of the Spring Term which is a series of starting points and suggestions. The coursework is 60% and the Externally Set Unit is 40%.
