You will develop a real understanding, both theoretically & practically, of becoming an effective business professional. This subject combines well with many other subjects including Maths, IT, Law, Economics, and Languages. You will research real businesses to improve your knowledge and understanding and gain experience and skills during a work placement in year two. You will also take part in trips and extra-curricular activities. Extended Certificate – 4 units Diploma – 8 units A mixture of mandatory and optional units covering topics such as marketing, personal and business finance, event management, international business, and principles of management.
5 x grade 4s or above at GCSE or equivalent. You will need a grade 4 in GCSE Maths and English Language plus GCSE Business (if studied) or a Merit grade in BTEC First Award in Business/BTEC Technical Award in Enterprise (if studied).
50% Coursework – You must enjoy report writing and independent research. 50% Exams – Two external exams in January. A variety of communication methods eg reports, presentations, debates as well as practical activities such as market research, teamwork and project management.
