The reformed Product Design (3D Design) is a full 2-year course and an extension to the GCSE Product Design course, preparing students for a career in a wide range of design and engineering disciplines. There are also opportunities for current Year 11 to undertake selection for the Arkwright Trust. As an Arkwright scholar they will engage with ‘live’ projects with external companies and gain a 2-year bursary through the Arkwright Trust to assist with their A level studies. The course is linear and all elements will be assessed at the end of year 2.
At least Grade 6 or above in GCSE Product Design. Five GCSEs Grade 9-5, including Maths and English.
Paper 1 - Technical Principles - Specialist Knowledge Paper 2 - Designing & Making Principles - Specialist Knowledge Coursework Practical application of technical principles, designing and making principles.
