A-Level French is designed to strengthen students’ communication, critical thinking, research and analytical skills whilst also improving their understanding and appreciation of French-speaking societies and their respective cultures. The transferable skills gleaned from this course can also be applied to a variety of other subjects. Our French course builds on the skills acquired at GCSE level and is carefully structured to strengthen student proficiency in the four key areas of language (speaking, listening, reading and writing). With strong emphasis on diversity, students will focus on technological and social change and the benefits it brings. They will also look at aspects of French society; including artistic culture, current affairs, politics, literature and film. Language skills are in high demand and are useful in almost any career. A qualification in A-Level French can lead to exciting careers such as an interpreter, a translator or a tour manager.
