Course summary

You may have recently achieved a Level 2 qualification or already be working in the industry and looking to qualify. Either way, you will have a good understanding of basic electrical principles and be ready to take your skills to the next level. With a Diploma in Electrical Installation, Level 3, you will gain the advanced knowledge and training you need to work successfully and independently as an Electrician. You will learn about the underlying principles of electrotechnology and study a range of modules, such as Electrical Science, Installation, Inspection, Testing, Fault Diagnosis, Fault-Finding, and Repair. During the course, you will have the opportunity to learn about health and safety requirements, develop your IT and functional skills, and get involved in a range of team-building activities. Course Modules - Electrical Science - Installation Technology - Inspection Testing and Fault Finding - Diagnosis and Repair After completing your course, you may want to progress to an apprenticeship, where you will gain the onsite experience to become a fully qualified electrician. Further courses would be Inspection and Testing or Wiring Regulations. In addition, you can progress to our HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or, if you are employed, a Foundation Degree in Electrical Systems and Installation or Electronic Systems and Control. Entry requirements

5 GCSEs including maths and English language and a Diploma in Electrical Installation, Level 2.

How you'll be assessed

You will complete practical assignments and written exams. You will be assessed on your theoretical knowledge and the practical projects that you complete in the workshop.
