Course summary

Information Technologies is a 'must have' for every Post 16 student. Highly motivating, the course develops the knowledge and skills you need to be competent and informed ICT users and practitioners. The course is flexible and demanding enough that you can go as far into topics as you want to. The learning objectives set by each unit allow you to prove a very good in-depth knowledge and it also teaches valuable skills for everyday life. Year 12 Unit 1: Information Technology Systems - written examination (120 guided learning hours) Unit 3: Using social media is business - Coursework (90 guided learning hours) Year 13 Unit 2: Creating systems to manage information - practical examination (90 guided learning hours) Unit 5: Data Modelling - Coursework (60 guided learning hours)

Entry requirements

• GCSE English Language or English Literature at Grade 4 or above or GCSE Mathematics at Grade 4 or above. Fives or more subjects in total at Grade 4 or above (this includes BTECs). • 5 in English and Maths, 5 passes at GCSE Level.
