The Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care aims to provide an introduction for learners who are interested in learning about the health and social care sector as part of a balanced study programme. The content of the qualification incorporates topics relevant across the health and social care sector: - Human Lifespan Development - Working in Health and Social Care - Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs - Physiological Disorders and their Care It is equivalent in size to one A Level. The qualification supports access to a range of higher education courses.
Students must have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 including English for entry on to this course.
Unit 1: External assessment mixture of short answer, scenario based and essay questions, taken in January of AS year, Unit 5: Internal coursework element—completed after January exam is taken.
