Media is a creative and innovative subject which provides students with the right combination of knowledge, understanding and skills required for the 21st Century, in which media is evolving, changing and continuing to shape the world. Students will develop theoretical and technical knowledge and understanding of media concepts and work in the design and production of media products used within the industry. Students will engage with a wide range of screenings, hardware and software to complete their work, as well as working alongside media industry specialists. • GCSE English Language or English Literature at Grade 4 or above or GCSE Mathematics at Grade 4 or above. Fives or more subjects in total at Grade 4 or above (this includes BTECs). • 5 in English and Maths, 5 passess at GCSE Level,- An excellent effort, behaviour and attendance record in Year 11.
Year 12 Students will be introduced to the key concepts and theories within media studies and will be assessed by a process of two examined units and one coursework unit.
