Course summary

Geography is an exciting and relevant subject, which aims to encourage learners to develop a range of essential skills for Higher Education and the world of work through a content which is relevant to any citizen of Earth in the 21st century. Learners will understand the nature of physical and human geography through classroom and compulsory fieldwork based tasks, whilst unpicking the debates surrounding one of the contemporary challenges facing the world today.

A minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade 4 Grade 5 in English and Maths and Grade 6 in Geography

Component 1: Written exam: 2 hours 30 minutes 120 marks 40% of A-level Component 2: Written exam: 2 hours 30 minutes 120 marks 40% of A-level Component 3: Non-examined Assessment (Individual Investigation) 3,000–4,000 words, based on fieldwork 60 marks 20% of A-level marked by teachers moderated by AQA
