BTEC Applied Psychology is designed to support you to progress on to higher education and employment within the applied psychology sector. This a range of employability skills such as cognitive and problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, and organization skills. It is different to studying psychology as an A-level as you will complete internal assessed units (coursework), have the choice to re-sit external examinations and the mathematical element is less.
A minimum grade 4 in English literature or language, mathematics and science (4-4 from double award). It is beneficial to also have at least one grade 5 from these core subjects.
A strength of BTEC qualifications is that there are coursework units as well as examination units. This means you will only sit two examinations instead of three like you would with an A-level. In addition to this you are also allowed to re-sit the exams and there is also an opportunity to resubmit your coursework units too.
