Course summary

There is a heavy emphasis on practical work and problem solving in physics lessons. Students have access to an online text book to support each module and to help with their research and homework. The Physics Department is well equipped and places considerable emphasis on practical work which is assessed as part of the Practical Endorsement grade that will be shown on the A level certificate.

Entry requirements

- GRADE 7 IN GCSE PHYSICS OR DOUBLE SCIENCE - GRADE 6 IN GCSE MATHS. - A minimum of 5 GCSEs graded at 4 or above. - English Language or Maths GCSE graded at 4 or above. - An average GCSE points score of 4, or more, gleaned from all GCSE examinations undertaken by the pupil.

Modelling Physics ‐ 2 hours 15 minutes (100 marks) written paper Exploring Physics ‐ 2 hours 15 minutes (100 marks) written paper Unified Physics ‐ 1 hour 30 minutes (70 marks) written paper Practical endorsement in Physics (non‐exam assessment‐)
