Geography is the study of the world as the home of people, its natural and human environments, and the links between them. It has an emphasis on real world examples and the world around us. You will be involved in fieldwork and practical work and learn a host of diverse skills, which will equip you for future study and employment. This subject is varied, topical, and it complements other subjects in sciences, arts or humanities. Geography is equally divided between the study of physical and human environments. Topics to be studied include: hazards, the water and carbon cycles, global systems and governance, changing places, hot deserts and desertification, and population and the environment.
Five GCSEs at grade 9-4 including English Language and Maths. Geography GCSE is highly recommended; where taken, a grade 4 or above is required. This course is for school leavers. If you are over 18, please contact our Admissions Team to see if it is possible to study A Levels.
The course will be assessed mainly by written exam, with an additional individual coursework investigation (20%).
