Course summary

Sociology at Kineton is for all those students who want to find out more about the world we live in. You will learn about what we are as people and what our role and function is in society. It is important you have a lively and enquiring mind, an interest in current affairs and a desire to explore new ideas. The course will cover key ideas like the family, our education, crime and deviance, the role and functions of belief and religion, as well as gender, ethnicity, class and age. Sociology A Level is a solid starting point for any Social Science degree course at university. You will also pick up many interpersonal and analytical skills to help you; whatever your chosen future career. Many Sociology students have gone on to study Sociology or related degrees such as Criminology, Social Policy and Social Work. Future careers can include: Teaching; Social Work; Criminal Justice; Police; Probation Officer; Youth Worker; Public Relations; Journalism and Marketing.
