The opportunities for students of Physics, on completion of full-time education, are varied. There are many possible careers within the scientific world and qualifications in Science subjects are acceptable as an entry into many other careers. Physics should be studied in conjunction with Maths. Physics students are currently preparing to move into Higher Education courses and careers in the following fields: Aeronautics, Forensic Science, Nursing, Computing, Mechanical Engineering, Pharmacy, Electronic Engineering, Medicine and Research Chemistry.
Students must achieve a minimum of 6 GSCEs at Grade 4 or above including English Language at Grade 6. Grade 6 or above in GCSE Physics or Combined Science. Grade 6 or above in Mathematics.
You will study 6 modules of work each covering different key concepts of Physics such as DC circuit and wave/particle theory. Assessment is now all at the end of the two year course and consists of three written exam papers. Practical work is assessed throughout the course, providing evidence for a Practical Endorsement.
