If you are interested in how science affects the world around you and how it is used in the workplace and industry. Then the Applied Science BTEC course may be the right choice for you. By developing your knowledge in the three main disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics through the Applied Science course, you will gain a thorough understanding of scientific knowledge within a vocational context. You will complete a range of units covering the fundamentals of Science, where you will study the basic building blocks of the three core Science disciplines – from chemical reactions to energy transfer. You will develop practical skills through multiple practical based units and carry out independent research tasks. In the second year of the course, you will continue to develop your practical skills, whilst completing multiple units in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. This includes how the body works, medical physics and how to control chemical reactions.
