You could earn 10% more than somebody who doesn’t speak a second language. Furthermore top universities respect and recognise the demands of studying this subject and the wide array of transferable skills acquired by students who study a language at A Level. The study of A Level French enables you to communicate with ease if you decide to work, study or stay in France or other French-speaking countries. In your French lessons you will learn about French culture and the culture of French speaking countries.l You will also learn how the language works and therefore you will be able to talk and write about anything you want in French. You will be expected to work both independently and as a group in your lessons where you will read, watch videos, listen to songs, take part in debates, practice your speaking skills…and have fun!
At least a 6 in French. At least two Bs and three Cs at GCSE, including at least a grade B in your chosen language at GCSE. If picking up Spanish from scratch, you will need to have an A in another Foreign Language at GCSE, or an A in English alongside a strong GCSE profile.
