The emphasis is very much on human biology, with the study of the physiological functioning and regulation of major organs like the heart, lungs, liver, pancreas, kidneys and the nervous system forming a major part of the course. In addition, we look at the biochemistry and functioning of a range of key biological molecules, including enzymes, DNA, and proteins, together with wider topics like transport, biodiversity, evolution, and disease.
Grades 66 in Combined Science or grades 666 in separate Sciences and grade 6 in GCSE Maths.
100% exams, although students must carry out enough practical work successfully to obtain a practical endorsement.
