Course summary

For 16-18 year olds in the Birmingham and Sandwell area, learning German at Shireland Collegiate Academy opens the door to opportunities that you may never have even though about, not just in business but in the fields of medicine, law, engineering, architecture, art, science and of course travel and tourism. Learning German can lead to great job opportunities across Europe and the world as Germany has a diverse industry sector and strong economy. The British Government realises that there are a shortage of students emerging from study with a foreign language so choosing to study German at A-Level is a way of boosting your employability. German is commonly used in scientific language, thanks to a strong history of research and development, and is becoming more and more prolific on the internet. German can be combined with any subject as learning a foreign language improves your skills of analysis and interpretation and this can complement all your studies.
