The subject is divided into two distinct sections. 1) Examination Paper (50%)- Design and Technology in the 21st Century written examination: 3 hours. This includes a mix of structured and extended writing questions assessing learners’ knowledge and understanding of: - Technical principles - Design and making principles - Along with your ability to: - Analyse and evaluate wider issues in design and technology 2) Design and Make Tasks (50%) - You will submit a portfolio taken from project theme briefs.
We ask that students entering the Sixth Form have a minimum of 7 GCSEs or equivalent qualifications with 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 plus 2 at Grade 5 or above. G5 in any Technology GCSE.
