Sport is a popular choice at sixth form and for university courses. This course will give you a broad range of skills and knowledge that can be used in a variety of jobs in the sports industry and can aid you when studying at university. Your BTEC Sport course will cover an in-depth knowledge of the human body including bones, muscles and energy systems. You will learn skills critical for university such as presentation skills and sports specific coaching skills. There will be opportunities to take part in a variety of sports including Badminton and Rock Climbing.
Minimum level 5 in five separate subjects at GCSE Students are expected to achieve a minimum of grade 5 or above at GCSE to be considered for A Level and BTEC courses.
For unit 1 you will be assessed by one examination at the end of year one with the option of a resit the following year if required. Unit 2 is assessed externally by Pearson and is completed as a set task. Units 3 & 7 are coursework based and will be assessed internally by the PE Department.
