Students who wish to take this course should have an interest in Construction and the Built Environment. The course has a specialist work-related focus and covers the key knowledge and practical skills required in the appropriate vocational sector. This course is equivalent to one A Level and can lead to university study or employment in fields such as: Architecture, Building Services Engineering, Civil Engineering, Contracting Operations, Site Supervision, Structural Engineers, Surveying, Quantity Surveying and Town Planning.
Students must achieve a minimum of 6 GSCEs at Grade 4 or above including English Language and Mathematics. Merit Grade in Level 2 Construction or Grade 4 in a Technology subject.
The course will consist of internally assessed units, externally assessed units and an exam. Units are: Construction Design Construction Technology Health and Safety in Construction.
