The course leads to science-based careers and university study in fields such as: Aeronautics, Electronic Engineering, Medicine, Biological Sciences, Forensic Science, Nursing, Chemistry, Pharmacy and Chemical Engineering. The course is a facilitating subject and combines well with other Sciences and Mathematics to provide a rigorous foundation for further study.
Students must achieve a minimum of 6 GSCEs at Grade 4 or above. Grade 6 or above in GCSE Chemistry or Combined Science. Grade 6 in Mathematics and English Language.
You will study 6 modules of work each covering different key concepts of Chemistry. Assessment is now all at the end of the 2 year course and consists of three written exam papers. Practical work is assessed throughout the course, providing evidence for a Practical Endorsement.
