Course summary

What happens when a nerve impulse travels down our motor neurons to the muscles? Why do some athletes take Performance Drugs? How can we prevent sports injuries? How can we transfer skills from one sport to another? These are all questions you will be able to answer after studying A level PE, the fascinating science of sport and physical activity, why people take part, and how they can improve. Entry requirements

You will need to achieve five or more “4” grades. Must be playing, coaching or officiating competitively in at least 1 sport regularly.

How you'll be assessed

At the end of Year 13 you will take three papers, one 2 hour long and two 1 hour papers. You will also be required to complete a practical sports assessment, log book and verbal analysis (EAPI) of sports performance.
