Course summary

A Level Geography is an inquiry into our world and our management of it. The course balances human and physical geography and is perfect for students who want to know more about the world, the natural processes that create it, and the way that humans interact with it. If you frequently ask questions about why things happen in the world, this course is perfect. Throughout, we develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, and have a strong focus on enquiry-led learning and field study. Anyone who has studied Geography at GCSE level to grade 6 or above. You must have a passion for geography and a genuine interest in the world. The course also compliments many Science subjects. Students should have a love of problem solving and critical thinking, with a thirst for knowledge and understanding of the world and our place in it. The A level Geography course is highly regarded by universities and employers and is a gateway subject to many university courses, as well as a prerequisite for degrees in a geographical field.

Entry requirements

- We would expect GCSE Geography at grade 6 or above. - You must have achieved 5 passes including mathematics and English, where a pass is defined as GCSE 9-4 and pass or better at level 2 BTEC.
