Course summary

This course is ideal for students who have an interest in health, childcare or social care. It is suitable for students wishing to enter vocational areas such as Nursing, Health Service, Social Work or those who have yet to decide a specific career path. The Pearson Level 3 BTEC National Extended Certificate in Health & Social Care provides students with a broad knowledge of health and care services and allows them to focus on different aspects of the vocational area. Because it is broad-based, it gives students the flexibility to progress into specific training in the health and care sector or transfer to other occupational areas. How will I be taught? You will be taught in a variety of learning styles. You will be expected to be responsible for your own learning and work with other members of the group as well as independently. Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSE passes at a minimum of Grade 4 (Grade C for Legacy qualifications).

How you'll be assessed

Assessment is via four units of work. Three of the units are mandatory and two of these units are external written exams.
