Course summary

A Level History helps students understand the significance of historical events, the role of individuals in history and the nature of change over time. It will help them to gain a deeper understanding of the past through political, social, economic and cultural perspectives. The two topics studied, Stuart Britain and Revolution in Russia, give students a broader understanding of history and are perfect for students who want to deepen their understanding from their GCSE studies. This course is suitable for anyone who has studied History at GCSE to a grade 6 or above. You should have an interest and passion for History. History lends itself to other subjects, so students who have an interest in subjects such as Politics and Sociology, would be suitable to study this subject at A Level. History is a subject which is highly regarded by many universities and will support applications for many courses such as Law and Journalism.

This is an individual piece of assessed work, which is introduced at the end of Y12, with students working on it in Y13.
