Core Maths consists of 2 external examinations. Paper 1 contains questions on: 3.1 Analysis of data 3.2 Maths for personal finance 3.3 Estimation Paper 2 contains questions on: 3.4 Critical analysis of given data and models 3.5 The normal distribution 3.6 Probabilities and estimation 3.7 Correlation and regression Students will also be expected to draw on the mathematical content of paper 1.
38 points overall from the best eight GCSE subjects including a grade 4 in English Language and Mathematics. Grade 5 in GCSE Maths.
Core Maths is designed to be studied over 1 year with all assessments at the end of the course. Preliminary material is made available from 1st March to help students prepare for the exam.
